Bridging the Gap: Wealth Wisdom for Every Woman,
Every Generation
By Joanne Murray | Publisher, Sistazas Empowered Magazine
💰 The Truth About the Gap
Let’s be real, Black and Brown women face systemic wealth gaps that can feel
overwhelming. According to the Federal Reserve (2023), the median net worth of
Black households is one-eighth that of white households. Latinas, Native women,
and Asian women face their own complex financial realities, often shaped by both
culture and caregiving roles.
But here’s what I know: We are no longer waiting for permission to shift the
narrative. We’re building tables, brands, portfolios, and inheritance plans—all while
carrying babies on our hips and vision in our hearts.
In every family, there’s a moment when
a woman quietly becomes the bridge,
the one who holds wisdom from the
past while dreaming forward for those
yet to come. I firmly believe that wealth
is not just about money; it’s about
mindset, mission, and meaning. That
belief has been at the core of Sistazas
Empowered since day one, and it feels
especially timely in this bridal edition.
Marriage is a new beginning, but it also
brings with it the legacy of what each
partner carries, financial habits,
generational beliefs, and sometimes,
money wounds. That’s why I want to
speak directly to you, whether you’re
the bride, her mother, or the mentor
she calls “auntie”, to remind you: it’s
never too early or too late to lead with
financial wisdom.
