Legacy Planning Is for
Us All: How to Build
What Outlives You
By Pastor Brenda Fruster | Author & Coach,
The Hope, Renewal Journey
Weddings are a celebration of love. But as someone who stood in covenant for
over 40 years with my beloved husband, Pastor Ronald Fruster, I’ve learned
that love must also prepare for the day when vows become memories and only
legacy remains.
Ronald passed peacefully, but what was left behind wasn’t chaos; it was clarity.
Not because we had it all, but because with God's help, we planned ahead.
This is why I write, speak, and coach women of faith, especially new brides,
with urgency and hope. Because later may be too late.
Why Legacy Planning Matters Now
Many see estate planning as a
conversation for the wealthy or the
elderly. But I know from experience:
legacy isn’t about what’s in your
account, it’s about what’s in your heart
and on your paper.
You don’t wait until the storm to build
the ark.
Do you have a will?
Have you chosen who will speak on
your behalf if you are unable?
Have you protected your children or
family’s future with clear intentions?
If you love deeply, then legacy planning
is one of the highest forms of love.
For Brides and Beyond
Marriage is a holy covenant, but it's also
a new chapter in stewardship. I
encourage every bride to include the
following in their journey, not just for
security, but for peace:
A Written Will or Trust
To clearly document your wishes,
assets, and instructions.
Powers of Attorney & Healthcare
Directives
Love plans for “what if,” not just
“happily ever after.”
Joint Conversations with Your
Spouse
What are your shared dreams? What
legacy do you want to build?
